The Tacuma is shorter than the small-size Nubira model but has outstanding space for passengers and luggage Longitudinal space has been created by raising the height of the front and rear seats Much of the running gear, including the engine, is shared with the Nubira although the rear suspension is all-new The driver's seat has a height-tilt adjustable cushion as well as a fold-down left-side armrest Three removable separate rear seats are used The centre seat slides forward to help provide more shoulder room AM/FM radio with single CD player is standard Air-conditioning is standard in the Tacuma 6.0Jx15 steel wheels are standard Tyres are 195/60HR15 steel belted radials With seats in place, the rear luggage area measures 347 litres Load area increases to 1425 litres with seats double-folded, or 1847 litres with rear seats removed Roof rails for boosting carrying capacity are standard Tacuma comes with dual front airbags Front seatbelts are equipped with pretensioners and force limiters Remote control central locking is standard in the Tacuma An immobiliser renders the engine inoperable without the correct key The 2.0-litre, in-line, four-cylinder powerplant is a reworked version of engine used in Nubira and Leganza models The engine uses a cast iron block with an alloy cylinder head Power output is 94kW at 5600rpm. Maximum torque of 183Nm comes in at 4000rpm MacPherson strut front suspension is the same as used on the Nubira Rear suspension is a new coil-spring, compound-link design
