TRANSMISSION choices are either a five-speed manual or four-speed electronically controlled automatic. The manual is a Daewoo design, featuring a one-piece casing, strengthened to allow for the higher power outputs of the new engine. The rod-type gearshift linkages were also designed to give a good shift feel. The auto, sourced from GM Powertrain in the US, features lock-up in fourth gear and two operating modes, economy and power.
