Geneva Show: Czinger teases 21C hybrid hypercar

BESPOKE American manufacturer Czinger has teased its upcoming 21C hybrid hypercar in a one-minute video on YouTube ahead of its global debut at the Geneva motor show.

Czinger says the 21C has been “created by 21st century artisans” for the 21st century, and so the video starts with a component being 3D printed before cutting to a shot of the car’s rear as it drives along the Pacific Coast Highway in California.

The shot shows several key design features, including a massive rear wing and an LED tail-light strip running all the way across the rear from the top of the hugely flared wheelarches.

Next is a shot showing off a wealth of carbon-fibre in the mid-mounted engine bay followed by a glimpse of bespoke alloy wheels and carbon-ceramic brake discs.

The body and chassis are made almost exclusively out of carbon-fibre with the weave visible for all to see although no details have been released so far as to its weight or dimensions.

What follows is perhaps what everyone was waiting for – a look at the front – with the 21C bearing some resemblance to the equally American and also looming SCC Tuatara, albeit less pointy and featuring the previously mentioned rear wing.

At the front, double-stacked headlights flank the deeply sculptured nose while the shape of the glasshouse clearly denotes the tandem seating setup inside the cabin.

During the action shots of the car itself, Czinger has made no effort at all to mute the engine note which to our ears sounds like the 21C will brandish a high-powered six-cylinder paired with what Czinger describes as a “strong” hybrid system.

The video continues and provides glimpses of the car’s construction and the technology used to build it with on-screen graphics describing it as revolutionary, referring to both the construction technology and that inside the car itself.

The final shot is of the car speeding out of frame before the Geneva motor show debut confirmation closes out the video.

The Geneva Motor Show will be held from March 5 to March 15 where the Czinger 21C and a multitude of other new vehicles will make their international debut.
