There's only one transmission choice for either the VTR or VTS, and that's a five-speed manual, mated to a dry, single-plate clutch. If you want an auto you're going to have to opt for the five-door Xsara, which gets a four-speed auto as an option with the 1.6, and as the only choice in the 2.0.
