EXCLUSIVE by name and by nature, Citroen's XM Exclusive is very much a successor to the innovative and avant-garde big cars that are forever associated with the marque ... Traction Avant, DS, CX. Now in its twilight years, the XM has sold in tiny but steady numbers in Australia since 1991 to customers craving uniqueness, luxury, comfort and a slice of Gallic charm. Updates have finally brought about an engine worthy of the tech-fest styling, suspension and brakes, but in reality this car is eclipsed by competitors that seem to be becoming more homogenised. Reason enough for its continuing existence, then.
