THE C5's body is claimed to be torsionally very stiff, and incorporates front and rear crumple zones, plus a reinforced passenger compartment that protects against side collisions and uses A-pillars designed to absorb and dissipate energy towards the rear of the vehicle in a front collision. Front seatbelts incorporate pretensioners and force limiters (the latter on the rear side seatbelts as well), while dual front airbags, front side bags and full-length curtain airbags are standard.
