G3 C3

Based on the ‘PSA A’ architecture – a derivative of the PF1 platform that also underpinned the Citroen C4 Cactus as well as Peugeot’s 208 and 2008 – the third-gen C3 launched in Oz in late 2017.

The only engine on offer was the PSA’s PureTech 1.2 e-THP 110, a Euro6-emissions rated, 1190cc 1.2-litre three-cylinder all-alloy petrol turbo unit delivered 81kW of power and 205Nm of torque, and drove the front wheels via a six-speed torque converter automatic.

Despite the offbeat styling flourishes, convention reigned underneath, with MacPherson-style struts up front and a torsion beam rear axle.

PSA made some noise on how quiet the Mk3 C3 was, due to the so-called ‘Citroen Advanced Comfort Programme’, which saw specially designed seating and better sound-deadening material and pathways. Plus, the car featured a high level of customisation, Mini-style.

Did you know this was the first car with an in-built dash cam?
