THE sole transmission choice for Voyager is a four-speed automatic. An electronic brain constantly monitors items like engine speed and temperature, and alters the shift pattern accordingly. During a shift, the transmission can modulate hydraulic pressure 143 times a second for smooth operation. Computer logic also delays unwanted upshifts between second and fourth when going uphill.
