PT Cruiser facelift

BY CHRIS HARRIS | 29th Jun 2005

CHRYSLER has completed a comprehensive upgrade to its PT Cruiser, with revised styling, an "all-new" interior and improved refinement.

No, it hasn’t dispensed with the retro looks. Instead, the PT gets updated front and rear fascias, including a new front grille with the Chrysler winged badge and chrome accents, new headlamps that feature a scallop along the bottom edge, and new round foglamps.

Significant work has been undertaken to reduce road noise, while among the cabin improvements are a new instrument panel with larger gauges, a new centre console with more storage facilities, a revised dash stack with a higher-mounted stereo, and a bigger glovebox.

The model year 2006 PT Cruiser is expected to reach Australia late this year.
