LIKE any adventurously styled vehicle, the Chrysler PT Cruiser tends to polarise opinions. It brings to mind American cars of the late 1940s although it could in no way be described as a replica as it measures slightly shorter than the Chrysler Neon. Where it scores over VW's New Beetle - the only other car that rivals it for visual impact - is that it has an entirely practical side. A smooth V6 engine would be more in character.
