Sydney show: New Buforis on horizon

BY PHILIP LORD | 16th Oct 2007

BUFORI says it will have two new models to add to its La Joya two-seater within the year.

Group Chairman of Bufori Motor Company, Anthony Khouri, says the company is working on a four-seat La Joya and a ‘modern’ muscle car, which is in prototype stage pending a production announcement in six months.

“We’ve got two prototypes almost finished now - a modern version, a full-on muscle car and one a current version of the La Joya but a four-door. It’s a very much upmarket four-door VIP car," he said.

Mr Khouri expects the new models could arrive here by mid to late-2008.

Currently only 300 La Joyas are hand-built per year by 150 artisans, and each takes between 800-900 hours to complete.

Mr Khouri said a facility upgrade and more workers will allow a volume ramp-up with the new models.
