THE X5's rack and pinion power steering system was developed especially for the purpose of delivering car-like response and weighting in a bulky part-time off-roader. The result is that the driver never really feels the weight of the vehicle, while a relatively tight turning circle of 12.1 metres makes it fairly easy to park. The steering wheel goes from lock to lock in 3.4 turns.
