BMW has given its 6 Series Coupe and Convertible its second refresh since the model’s introduction as the 8 Series replacement in 2004. While the 2006 update saw an engine upgrade from a 4.4-litre V8 to a 4.8-litre V8, for 2008 performance is better with a new, faster-shifting six-speed transmission, safety is improved via active head restraints and myriad other detail changes have been wrought to account for the $8000 price increase.
