Larger capacity V8s arrive for BMW 6 Series

BMW is releasing an upgraded 6 Series coupe and convertible in Sydney, powered by the same 4.8-litre V8 that propels the upgraded 550i sedan.

Now assuming the 650i nameplate, BMW’s revised two-door flagships also gain Head Up Display and High Beam Assist technology.

Like the 550i versus 545i sedan, both 650i models offer a 25kW power and 40Nm torque increase over their 645Ci forebears.

The six-speed Steptronic auto-equipped 650i coupe now sprints to 100km/h in a claimed 5.5 seconds (convertible: 5.8 seconds), while consuming 11.1L/100km on the combined cycle (convertible: 11.7L/100km).

BMW previously announced 650i coupe and convertible pricing at $201,000 and $217,400 respectively.
