BMW satellite navigation is available across the 5 Series range as an optional extra. The system is fully integrated into the MID (Multi-Information Display) unit on the dash facia and operated using the dials nearby. A CD for the relevant coverage area - the most populous areas of Australia have now been mapped - is required in the CD slot mounted in the boot. A voice recognition system, telephone and an advanced on-board computer are also available as an option on the 530i Sport.
