APART from its high levels of active safety, like all 3 Series BMWs the M3 comes standard with passive safety features such as ABS, Cornering Brake Control, Automatic Stability Control & Traction (ASC+T) and eight airbags - including front airbags for the driver and front passenger, side airbags for the four outboard occupants and ITS head airbags for the driver and front passenger. M3 adds to this Dynamic Stability Control (DSC III) and a low tyre pressure indicator (pictured). There are three-point seatbelts and adjustable head restraints for all four outboard passengers - the front pair adjustable for sash height. But the centre rear occupant must make do with an inferior lap-only seatbelt. A single child restraint anchor is mounted in the centre of the rear parcel shelf, as required by Australian Design Rules, with another two anchor points beneath removable sections of the rear speakers.
