High-Line expands BMW 3-Series line-up

BMW has added limited-edition versions of its 3 Series sedan and wagon range that adds one of the brand’s most popular optional packages for no extra cost.

The High-Line special editions will include BMW’s Innovations Package – normally a $3000 option – as part of the standard equipment list, and apply to models including the 316i, the 320i, the 320d, the 328i, the 335i and the ActiveHybrid 3 sedans and the 318d, 320i and 328i Touring models.

The Innovation Package adds a surround view camera system that can give a top-down view of the road around the car, an automated braking system that can either avoid or reduce the severity of a rear-end shunt, keyless central locking, anti-glare wing mirrors, a head-up display that floats information such as speed and satellite navigation directions on the windscreen in front of the driver, a lane departure warning and automated parking function.

The 316i sedan and 318d sedan and Touring gain front parking sensors, while a reversing camera joins the equipment list on the 318d Touring.

BMW said the 328i High-Line would also add bi-Xenon headlights, while the 335i and ActiveHybrid 3 models would receive the M Sport Package as a no cost option.

“The additions to the specifications of the High-Line models represent an increase of more than $6000 over the standard BMW 3 Series variants, making the BMW 3 Series High-Line Sedan and Touring the most elegant, most dynamic – and most value-rich – prestige vehicles on the market today,” BMW said.
