THE 330Ci comes standard with a five-speed manual gearbox - eschewing the current sports car craze for six-speeders. Top gear is a tall 1:1 ratio. The lifetime transmission fluid makes an oil change at 150,000km redundant. The engine and transmission are connected by a self-adjusting clutch which means no maintenance is required throughout the car's lifetime. The optional five-speed automatic features Adaptive Transmission Control (ATC), a fully controlled converter lock-up clutch and the Steptronic semi-manual mode.
