AUDI 80 4D SEDAN (1988-1992)
WELL equipped and built. Comfortable for four. Forward engine location, front- drive make it a touch nose heavy. Four-cylinder 1.9-litre engine thrifty but three- speed automatic and high-geared manual take the edge off performance.

PEUGEOT 405 4D SEDAN (1989-1993)
EUROPEAN car of the year in 1988. Excellent ride, handling and steering. Plenty of creature comforts except cruise control. A 1.9-litre, 85kW engine with four- speed auto or five-speed manual. The 16-valve engined Mi-16 provided more performance, better handling and an increase in specification.

HONDA ACCORD 4D SEDAN (1989-1993)
MOVED upmarket with a much larger new model in late 1989. Well equipped, roomy and quiet. Refined independent double wishbone suspension provides good ride and handling. Efficient all-alloy, 94kW, four-cylinder, 2.2-litre engine.

SAAB 900 4D SEDAN (1988-1994)
DISTINCTIVE styling stands out in a crowd. Two-door and five-door versions also available. Safe, balanced and comfortable with good steering, suspension and brakes. The 2.0-litre, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine provides good performance with reasonable economy.
