NEW to this series is Tyre Pressure Control, a system which constantly monitors pressure and temperature inside all four wheels and warns the driver of punctures or tyre defects. Higher levels of 3 Series sedans offer DSC 3, BMW's Dynamic Stability Control system which uses sensors and a computer to monitor the running conditions of the car and regulate the flow of engine power accordingly. Park Distance Control, which uses sensors at the front and rear bumper and a series of warning beeps, provides assistance when approaching a kerb or other object. An optional Car Memory system enables the driver to set a range of individual functions, while Key Memory memorises settings for such things as seat position and air-conditioning.
