THE 3 Series suspension comprises MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear. A number of axle components, including the front track control arms and spring strut supports, are now made from light-weight aluminium and, overall, the 318i's suspension is 8kg lighter than that of its predecessor. 'Sports' suspension is now also included on 318is with manual transmission.
