CONSIDERING there are just two variants of Audi’s Q7 seven seat luxury SUV on sale in Australia, its sales performance rocks, being third most popular in its segment after the ubiquitous BMW X5 and bling-tastic Range Rover Sport, both of which are available with numerous engine and trim configurations.

In typical Audi fashion, buyers are invited to peruse the extensive options list to create a variant all of their own. Not that we’re saying a standard Q7 resembles a blank canvas.

Regardless of equipment, the entry-level Q7 variant more than maintains its luxury credentials despite a de-tuned 160kW diesel engine and trimmed standard equipment list, even though it was packing more than $14,000 worth of options.
