AUDI’S decision to price its all-new Q2 crossover in similar territory to its slightly larger Q3 crossover stablemate was a bold move.

There is a risk that the new kid could cannibalise sales of the ageing Q3, and there is the risk of buyer confusion by offering two similarly-positioned vehicles.

But after a drive in the new German-built baby SUV, it is clear that the two models could not be more different.

And given the continuing SUV sales boom Down Under, the only problem is likely to be whether Audi can keep up with demand.
