AUDI has opened the doors to its new 3000 square-metre Richmond dealership, as the German car-maker prepares for an expected sales boost in the Melbourne area.

Located four kilometres east of the city’s CBD, the new Swan Street facility is double the size of the dealership’s former site, 100m away, with space for up to 35 new and demonstrator cars to be displayed.

The service department is equipped with 11 hoists, a reception area and a cafe for customers.

Dealer principal of the Zagame automotive group Bobby Zagame said his company is focused on looking after Melbourne’s growing Audi customer base.

“We are investing heavily in the Audi brand as we prepare to deliver the highest levels of customer care to our growing community of Audi owners in Melbourne,” Mr Zagame said.

“The new facility in Richmond is an important part of our plan, and it will complement our flagship Audi Centre Melbourne dealership, when it opens in November.”The flagship centre located in the CBD on Swanston Street is currently under going a $25 million upgrade.

Once up and running this will take the total number Audi dealerships operating in the Melbourne area to seven, including Audi Richmond, Audi Centre Doncaster, Audi Penfold Burwood, Audi Centre Brighton, Audi Centre Geelong and Audi Barry Bourke in Berwick.

Audi Australia general manager Andrew Doyle said the new Richmond facility would join the dealer network to support the expected boost in sales in the coming years.

“Audi is a very strong brand in Melbourne, and we see the potential for significant growth overt the next few years,” Mr Doyle said.

“Premium facilities like Audi Richmond will support this growth, and serve our customers well in the Melbourne area.”
