THE Allroad dash creates the cosseting, cockpit-like feel that its road-going Audi cousins also achieve. The fascia is an entirely push-button affair - save for the single audio dial - with the essential controls placed within easy reach of the driver. Chrome rings surround the instrument gauges for speed, revs, fuel, volts and temperature. The instrument lettering is white on a black background and, like the rest of the dash controls, lights up in a deep red colour at night. A driver information system (DIS) with integral auto-check control is also provided, displaying useful information including outside temperature, average fuel consumption or warnings of doors open or blown bulbs in the vehicle's lighting system.
