LIKE most cars in this class, the S6 presents the driver with a huge number of controls. In addition to climate and sat-nav/stereo controls, the dash contains buttons for seat heating, electric rear sunblind, hazard lights and ESP on/off. The centre rearview mirror is an auto-dimmer, while external mirrors (heated and also auto-dimming) are adjusted with a knob on the centre console. Electric window switchgear, plus a driver's central door lock button, is found on the doors, and the sunroof has a rotary dial for simple, effective operation. The left hand stalk is used for indicators, high beam and cruise control, and the right for (variable intermittent) wipers and the trip computer. Xenon headlight and front and rear foglight operation is via a rotary dial on the right-hand side of the dash. The seats have full electric adjustment (including lumbar) and the steering wheel has Tiptronic up/down shift buttons and power adjustment for both reach and height.
