THE RS4 cockpit produces the snug, flattering feeling that most Audi S cars achieve. It has a number of unique RS4 characteristics, including genuine carbon-fibre trim strips that sweeps from one front door, right around the dash, to the opposing door. The instrument binnacle houses unique RS4 gauges. We could have anticipated the supporting cast for fuel, volts and temperature, plus a driver information system that displays useful information such as outside temperature, average fuel consumption and warnings where necessary. But a speedo that is both informative and colossal in its range? It reaches 310km/h. As is Audi's wont, the dash and most instruments light up in a deep red colour at night.
