THOUGH Audi is a master of understatement with its performance cars, the handcrafted RS4 has a menacing look with its black paintwork (in the first, limited-edition batch), a huge front bumper/airdam with three large air intake ducts, tubular side skirts, and 18-inch wheels and tyres housed in redesigned wheel arches that are flared at both their front and rear edge by 35mm. The broadening of the rear side section continues in the contours of the rear doors, while exhaust gas escapes through two oval tailpipes beneath the rear bumper. The standard roof rails, roof trim strips and window capping strips, door mirrors and radiator grille frame have a matt aluminium finish. RS4 logos can be found on the grille, tailgate and doorsills.
