THE A4 suspension was substantially revised for the current model, the front axle continuing with a four-link design - now 8.5kg lighter with the use of aluminium components - and the rear now featuring a self-tracking trapezoidal link based on the established configuration for quattro models. It, too, uses aluminium components. Anti-roll bars are used front and rear. Audi says the suspension tuning aims to give front-drive versions a neutral to slight understeering behaviour, even under extreme conditions. The quattro, by comparison, was left with a neutral to slight oversteering tendency.
