Audi lowers entry-level for A4

AUDI has introduced a new limited edition A4 2.0 SE multitronic model that lowers the entry price for the mid-size prestige A4 to $45,900.

Previously, the least expensive model in the Audi A4 armoury was the 2.0 model with a five-speed manual gearbox, which is priced at $47,800.

However, buyers will have to be quick with the new entry-level A4 because Audi Australia is making only 200 examples available.

The front-drive 2.0-litre SE – which stands for special edition – is mechanically the same as the regular A4 2.0, but is only available with a seven-speed ‘multitronic’ semi-auto transmission.

Compared to the regular A4 2.0 multitronic, the 2.0 SE limited-edition has different alloy wheels and misses out on speed-sensitive steering, heated mirrors, driver information system (trip computer, auto-check control and exterior temperature display), front centre armrest and a some interior and exterior trim embellishments, but at a saving of $4550.
