THE high-pressure turbo Audi A4 quattro really rewards enthusiastic driving.

The 1.8-litre engine has plenty of oomph and emits a delightful whistle on full song. Despite its 132kW, it is almost impossible to break traction in the dry thanks to the limpet-like quattro grip. It also offers crisp handling with minimal body roll and no under or oversteer. As with all A4 models, disadvantages include the tight back seat and slightly over-assisted power steering.
