THE aerodynamic (0.29Cd) A4 was an undisputed style leader when first launched in 1995. And it speaks volumes for the design that it still manages to look balanced and aesthetically pleasing just before its replacement in 2001. So good was the original design that little has been done to it in the intervening years and only Audi purists will pick the small cues identifying the latest model. The changes are predictable: new front and rear bumpers, side rubbing strips and clear-lens headlights are the main identifiers.
