THE 156's 2.0-litre 16-valve Twin Spark engine develops 114kW of power at 6400rpm and 186Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The engine is equipped with electrohydraulic variable valve timing, variable geometry intake manifolds to guarantee optimal power output and two counter-rotating balancer shafts in order to achieve the silent running and lack of vibration normally associated with a six cylinder engine. The 156 also has a 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine available.
