DISC brakes with floating callipers are used at both ends of the Alfa 147, the front featuring 284mm diameter ventilated discs and the rear 251mm solid discs. A 10-inch diameter vacuum suspended tandem booster provides power assistance. Several electronic aids are linked with the braking system, including anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), automatic slip regulator (ASR) and vehicle dynamic control (VDC).
