Bendix grows performance brake kit range

BENDIX has announced a range of high-performance brake upgrade packages for an expanded range of performance cars, muscle cars and hot hatches.

The Ultimate+ Performance Brake Upgrade Kits are now available for even more of Australia and New Zealand’s most popular performance cars, including many Ford Mustang variants, selected Holden and HSV VE and VF Commodores, a wide selection of Subaru’s WRX rally hero models, and the peppy Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ twins.

Bendix offers individual front or rear kits, with the former comprising Ultimate front rotors, Ultimate+ high friction brake pads, braided brake lines, DOT 4 brake fluid, Ceramasil parts lubricant and a cleaning product, and the rear Ultimate Sports and Performance rear rotors and Ultimate+ high friction brake pads.

The Ultimate rotors supplied in the kit are said to feature high carbon metallurgy, providing superior stopping power and reduced wear, while also delivering improved thermal stability that reduces brake fade and warping under extreme braking temperatures.

The rotors further feature Diamond Tip slots in unidirectional configurations and V-shaped dimples to assist in gas, grit and water dispersion to provide more consistent braking. All are manufactured to OEM specifications for size, diameter and stud pattern spacing.

Also included in the kits are Bendix’s high friction Ultimate+ brake pads which it says utilise an advanced ceramic formulation that provides a responsive pedal feel and braking confidence no matter what the driving conditions.

Like many Bendix brake pads, the Ultimate+ product features the brand’s Blue Titanium Stripe technology to help rapidly mate with the rotor when brakes are first applied, eliminating the need to ‘bed-in’ the pads, potentially saving up to 10 minutes of workshop time.

Bendix says its Ultimate+ brake pads offer up to 25 per cent better braking performance than standard pads and greater resistance to fade. They are also said to be more durable and less likely to wear the brake rotors. Additionally, their ceramic formula produces significantly less noise and dust, meaning wheels stay cleaner for longer.

Ultimate+ Performance Brake Upgrade Kits are also available with braided brake hoses, which feature a Teflon-coated core line that is wrapped in a stainless-steel braid and then coated in a protective outer sleeve, DOT 4 brake fluid, and Ceramasil Brake Parts Lubricant and a can of Bendix ‘Clean-up’ brake and parts cleaner.
