BLAND is not a word that springs to mind when it comes to Ford's latest entrant in the personal coupe market. The US-built Cougar concentrates on giving what most customers in this category are after - stand-out styling. On top of this, the Ford is priced to slug it out with the likes of Honda Prelude, Toyota Celica and, maybe, the odd European. It is not, nor does it pretend to be, a sports car although it is quite fast and competent.
