Hyundai’s top-selling i30 not a ‘loss leader’

- Hyundai Motor Co Australia (HMCA) has revealed that its top-selling i30 small car was profitable at $19,990 driveaway with free automatic transmission because the Korean manufacturer’s global return on investment expectations had been exceeded.

- However, the deal that helped the small hatchback rise to the top of the Australian sales charts in the first half of this year may not be sustainable.
