Cosmetic spice coming for TT

BY MIKE COSTELLO | 5th Jul 2012

AUDI Australia will spice up 2.0 TFSI versions of its TT coupe from the first half of 2013, when it makes available a new S line Competition package.

Pricing is not yet confirmed, but the limited edition package will bring extra equipment and add a suite of racy cosmetic enhancements both inside and out.

Additions to the exterior include a TT RS-style black rear wing, newly-designed bumpers, gloss black air inlets, side sills, tailpipe trims and diffuser, and 19-inch alloy wheels finished in – you guessed it – black.

Inside the cabin will be special door sill trims, Nappa leather sport seats with special S line logos and a flat-bottomed steering wheel, as in the flagship TT RS.

The 155kW/350Nm turbocharged direct-injection 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine is available with both front-drive and quattro drivetrains, matched exclusively to a six-speed version of the S tronic dual-clutch transmission.

The package will not be available on the Roadster bodystyle, or 1.8 TFSI, 2.0 TDI, S or RS versions of the TT coupe.

Audi Australia broadened the current-shape TT range – which dates back to 2006 – in May this year with the addition of a new base Roadster variant, while making its seven-speed S tronic transmission available on more TT variants than before.
