ONLY a five-speed manual transmission had been available until the recent arrival of an automatic with sequential manual shift. The manual is a Honda-designed, Rover-assembled unit previously used in the larger T-Series 2.0-litre engines. The auto was developed by Belgian firm ZFST and is a constantly variable transmission, though with six "fixed" ratios. It has two modes, Normal and Sport.
