Mahindra released an updated version of its budget Genio ute in February 2016, making changes to exterior styling and safety features.
Sold as a single- or dual-cab and with the choice of two- or four-wheel drive, the Genio used a 2.2-litre mHAWK turbo-diesel engine paired only to a five-speed manual transmission.
The four-cylinder engine was good for 88kW/280Nm, and gave the Genio a payload of 1260kg.
The Genio suspension employed a double-wishbone, front independent design with coil springs, while at the back semi-elliptical multi-leaf springs were used.
Stopping power came from disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
Other features included air-conditioning, power steering, central locking, cruise control, power windows and steering wheel controls as standard, with a Bluetooth phone accessory sold as an option.
