Renault Koleos

Series II Koleos

1 Sep 2016

Renault left behind the Samsung-designed first-generation Koleos in September 2016 when it introduced the French-styled but still South Korean-built second-generation model.

The Koleos fell into design line with its Clio and Megane siblings, though it is substantially larger than the original version having been engineered on a platform shared with the Nissan X-Trail.

The three-tier lineup all featured a 2.5-litre petrol four-cylinder engine producing 126kW and 226Nm mated with an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) and featured both front-wheel-drive (Life, Zen) and all-wheel-drive (Zen, Intens) availability.

The Life included 17-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, while the Zen added satellite navigation, keyless auto-entry and leatherette trim with heated front seats and electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

The flagship Intens further included a panoramic sunroof, full leather trim with ventilated front seats electrically adjustable passenger’s seat, electric tailgate, 8.4-inch touchscreen with rear USB ports, blind-spot monitor and autonomous emergency braking (AEB).
