Proton PrevePreve1 Feb 2013 MALAYSIAN car-maker Proton released its Preve small sedan in February 2013 charged with the task of quadrupling sales and boosting the brand in Australia. Proton’s first new car since 2009, the Preve was available with a five-year/150,000km factory warranty with roadside assistance and five years (or 75,000km) of free servicing. Launching with a single GX variant for the five-speed manual, the Preve was available with an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT). A massive 508-litre boot and a long standard features list including Bluetooth and USB/iPod connectivity, an MP3-compatible CD player with auxiliary input, a multi-function steering wheel, rear parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels, a trip computer, security alarm and electric windows and mirrors made the Preve appealing to budget-conscious buyers.
