Type 95B Macan

Porsche added a new mid-size SUV to its luxury car line-up in mid-2014 and promised buyers the Macan would live up to sportscar heritage.

The range kicked off with the diesel S, moved up to the 3.0-litre V6 petrol S, followed by the top-spec 3.6-litre Turbo, all mated to an automatic transmission.

Built on the same platform as the Audi Q5, Porsche said the Macan had 70 per cent new components and it definitely showed. Taut, agile, lithe and nimble, the Macan definitely felt like it had sportscar DNA throughout.
