AUSTRALIA’S first commercially available electric car, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV arrived in Australia in September 2011.
An expensive proposition at launch, the i-MiEV had limited standard fair for the price, including automatic climate-control and sat-nav.
Range anxiety and a number of more advanced competitors prevented it from selling in huge numbers in Australia in its first two years on sale, but it did find itself a home in a number of government fleets.
