Mini answered the question no-one asked in 2013 with its Paceman crossover-cum two-door coupe, that never moved beyond a niche offering in Australia.

A handful of the quirky coupes trickled out of dealerships, with few buyers attracted to the two-door, high-riding formula.

Based on the Countryman SUV, the Paceman was available in Cooper and Cooper S guise before a John Cooper Works version lobbed later in 2013 powered by a 155kW/280Nm 1.6-litre turbo good for 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds.
