Mazda MPV

LV MPV (Series II)

1 Apr 1996

Mazda’s facelift of the ageing MPV was confined to a new grille, rear panel and wheel covers, although frontal crash protection was improved along with the inclusion of better anti-lock brakes and dual front airbags.

The biggest change inside was the incorporation of an extra seat in the middle row – allowing for a 2+3+3 eight-seat layout – with the rearmost one foldable or removable for increased luggage space.

A more modern dashboard, new storage spaces, retractable rear door windows (the previous model’s were fixed), rear seat picnic tables and keyless entry were also fitted.

Refinements to the four-speed auto transmission and revised suspension tuning for greater handling and ride properties topped off the MPV makeover.
