Lexus RCRC1 Nov 2014 After almost 10 years, Lexus released a new front-engined coupe to the Australian market in late 2014. The new Lexus competed in the market against other luxury sports coupes which included the BMW 4 Series and the Audi A5. Powered by a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6, that sent the 233kW of power and 378Nm of torque to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, the RC accelerated from zero to 100 kilometres in 6.1 seconds. Lexus added a higher performing variant, dubbed the RC F, to its sports coupe line-up in early 2015. Powered by a 5.0-litre V8, the RC F made 351kW/530Nm, sprinting to 100km from a standstill in 4.5 seconds. Lexus added the RC200t to the coupe’s line-up in December 2015, placing it under the LC350 and LC F. The two-door rear-driver was available in three grades – Luxury, F Sport and Sport Luxury – and featured the company’s new 8AR-FTE .0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine and eight-speed automatic transmission.
