LX570 (Mk 3)

Lexus logo1 Dec 2015

The third-generation Lexus 570 was upgraded in late 2015 with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, but retained its 5.7-litre V8 engine.

A significant revision of its exterior styling saw the debut of the spindle grille on the LX, while additional safety systems were also installed.

Priced from $140,500 plus on-road costs, the LX had jumped up by slightly more than $6000 compared with the outgoing model, but offered additional kit for the extra coin.

The most striking changes to the seven-seater were on the outside, with Lexus claiming that the only body panels not carried over from the previous model (also based on the 200 Series) were the roof and door skins.

It was backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission, as opposed to a six-speeder in the previous car. The new transmission helped to drop the fuel economy number slightly the new LX returned 14.4 litres per 100km, representing an almost half-litre improvement.

The LX was fitted with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, tyre-pressure monitoring, automatic high-beams and side and reversing cameras as standard, along with 10 airbags.
