TA Torana

A stopgap model until the German-designed/Isuzu-engineered TX Gemini came along in early ’75, the TA was the last of the old HB Vauxhall Viva-derived Toranas.

It used the LJ body save for a new plastic grille and redesigned taillights.

There were no six-cylinder variants (now the much-larger LH Torana’s domain), just the LJ’s 47kW 1.3 OHV and 60kW 1.760 OHC four-cylinder units.

Available in two-door base and Deluxe four-door guises, GMH made 11,304 TA Toranas in total.
