Great Wall SA220SA2201 Jun 2009 GREAT Wall's 2.2-litre four-door ute became the cheapest dual-cab workhorse on the market when it was launched at $19,990 driveaway alongside its more advanced, better-equipped but pricier sibling, the V240, in June 2010. The five-seat, four-cylinder petrol-powered ute was launched with a single specification, which came with standard leather trim, alloy wheels, electric windows and air-conditioning. However, there was no automatic or diesel option. Nor did it have airbags, ABS brakes or high-mounted stop light, which limited appeal among safety-conscious buyers. Just a year later, dealers were running out the remnants of SA220 stock and focusing sales attention on the in-demand 2.4-litre V240 range, which had recently been expanded with a single-cab model priced from just $17,990.
